Transgenders in Bhabhaneswar, Orissa, had to hold a separate Independence day parade of their own. They were refused permission to participate in the official state celebrations in the Capital one hears. The Transgender Independence day function was received with cheers from the people and one wonders – if we cannot be inclusive on a day like this, what was independence all about?
